Our First Night at the New Venue

Hi all,

Well, after almost 10 years, we have played our first session at a new venue, and do you know what? I think it was pretty good J.

But I’m just one person. What do you think? If you played at Botany last night, let me know what YOU thought.

I received various comments last night, mostly positive, but the most asked question was “are the courts smaller”? Personally, I doubt it, but I don’t know for sure. A couple of our members also play at Tempe on other days – maybe one of them could measure and compare the court sizes? Regardless, the Botany courts will be based on international badminton standards.

Personally, getting used to the non-slip surface was hardest for me, but I got used to it by the end of the night. And I guess other people found other things a bit different.

But like anything, we will all get used to the differences and adapt. The important thing is that we now have a long term booking for Monday nights only, so no more Sundays. And, no more netballers, volleyball or soccer lines, nets, or clashes J.
